Lauryn Hill Released From Prison

Former Fugees femcee Lauryn Hill walked free from a Connecticut prison on October 4th. She exited the prison several days ahead of her scheduled release date due to several factors one of which being good behavior. She will now spend the next three months under home confinement as part of the terms of her pleading guilty back in July to failure to pay 2.3 million dollars of delinquent taxes on earnings from 2005 to 2009. While confined in the Connecticut prison used to shoot the Netflix series Orange is the New Black, Hill took time to work on a new track which hit the internet via soundcloud on the date of her release. The cut is called Consumerism and features Lauryn exercising a rapid fire flow covering material suggested by the song’s title.

Young Buck Released From Prison

Former G Unit rapper Young Buck’s 18 month prison sentence for weapons possession charges ended last week. Buck broke the news to his fans and followers on Twitter Tuesday when he tweeted “I’m officially a free man!” It appears that there is a fresh start in Young Buck’s future. Prior to his release on October 1st, he settled his bankruptcy filing leaving him to pay his creditors absolutely nothing, which includes personal debt owed to 50 Cent to the tune of $171,000.

Big Boi’s Wife Files For Divorce

We are sad to report that after 11 years of marriage, Outkast member Big Boi and his wife Sherlita are separating. Divorce papers were filled in Fulton County Superior Court and describes the marriage as “irretrievably broken”. Sherlita is seeking alimony, an equitable division of marital property and attorney’s fees and custody of their 12 year old son.

Jay Z Has Two New Time Pieces

Hip-hop mogul Jay Z is starting yet another business venture. This time he will be partnering with high end watch maker Hublot to release the Shawn Carter Classic Fusion watches. The line will feature two stylish time pieces; one black ceramic watch priced at $17,900 and one yellow gold piece for $33,900.
